A Few Show Changes

Planning the shows for any indoor season is, at best, a stab in the dark until I know exactly how many performers I have in each ensemble and exactly who those performers are.

With that said,  I've made a few changes now that I know just who I've got and where I've got them.  They aren't major changes, but they are changes nonetheless.

The first change is for Bordeaux Varsity.  After doing some thinking about our color palette and taking a deeper look at our floors, I've made a change to the Varsity costumes.  Instead of using the cool toned dress we were considering before, I've decided to use this one instead:

This costume better follows the colors of the sparrow itself, and it will be more neutral in nature.  It also allows us to use our beige floor, instead of the stark white one.  Silks will all follow the neutral / earth toned color palette as well.  There will be lots of browns, creams, and hints of light pink and purple.

The second change is for Bordeaux Junior Varsity.  The JV group will still be doing the same show, but I've adapted the costume for the performers I have.  This is the costume we will use:

This costume (paired with leggings) allows us to pop a little more on the floor, and it since it is a solid color with lots of texture to it, our props will be easier to match (YES!!! There will be props!!!).  I'm pretty excited about this costume and what it will allow us to do on the floor!

The next change is for the Bordeaux Cadets.  Since the cadets are doing such a sassy show, I felt like they needed an even sassier costume to go with it.  This is the costume we will use:

We'll use all 3 colors, and with 15 girls in the ensemble, there will be 5 girls in each color of this costume.  We'll also pair these with black leggings, so be on the lookout for a good pair of black leggings to go with them!

The last change is for the Bordeaux Majorettes.  Since this show is also very sassy, I felt like there needed to be more sass in the costume we chose to wear.  The adjusted costume will do just that, while still providing a little more coverage than the traditional majorette costumes.

This costume will allow us to have the fundamental dance focus we are striving for this year, while also giving us some room to work on baton technique.  It flows well, and will look fabulous on all of our performers in this ensemble.

I absolutely cannot wait to get started on this indoor season!!!  Remember that your contracts (going out today) are due back no later than Wednesday!!!
